Felix Mendelssohn - Piano Concerto No 1 in G minor, Debut Artist - Isabel Feng, piano
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Symphony #41 in C Major, K. 551 “Jupiter”
When Mozart completed his final symphony in the summer of 1788, he created a work so vast in ambition and so perfect in execution that it earned the name of the greatest of the Roman gods, the Jupiter.
While Mozart’s star had already secured its place in the sky above, our program begins with two stars, still shooting upwards. Lili Boulanger’s D'un matin de printemps is a breath of fresh spring radiance followed by 14-year-old phenom, pianist Isabel Feng performing Mendelssohn’s dramatic and scintillating Concerto No1 in G minor.
